Jean (Jeanne) Stockton for San Tan Valley Town Council

Full-time San Tan Valley resident since 2010 and brings decades of experience in:

Over the past ten years, Jeanne has been active in the community to ensure the voices of the residents are heard.  She has partnered with state, county, and neighboring town officials to advance the needs of San Tan Valley.  She was involved with the incorporation effort in 2017-2018.  She worked with Neal Carter to modify the incorporation law that gave the residents the right to vote without being hindered by neighboring towns or developers.  She was one of the founders of the San Tan Valley Advisory Council and currently serves on the County’s Citizen Advisory Council.  She served as a consultant for the recent incorporation committee ensuring they were positioned for success.  She generously donated her notary services personally notarizing more than half of the incorporation petitions.

Jeanne will continue to be a strong, transparent voice for all residents (with full respect for legal executive-session confidentiality).  She will continue to support the residents by voicing opposition to commercial rezoning that, according to the community concerns, reduces the potential to attract the businesses and services the area urgently needs.  She believes the success of San Tan Valley relies on a united and engaged community where every resident’s voice is valued and heard.

When elected, Jeanne will continue to serve all residents and will concentrate on key community priorities, including advocacy, transparency, and responsive local leadership.

• Maintaining AND extending commercial opportunities
• Providing solutions to ease traffic congestion including strategic diversion routes
• Improve safety by modifying  ingress and egress accesses points where needed
• Promoting ordinances that give residents more input on zoning changes
• Encouraging the use of technology to streamline interactions between the residents and the town
• Supporting tax approaches that reflect community needs rather than unnecessary increases
• Bringing more career-level positions through targeted economic development
• Ensuring long-term town plans align with the community’s vision and the needs of residents.
• Turn resident’s complaints into actionable SOLUTIONS
• Protect the rural areas within the town limits
• Advocate for reviewing contracts and ordinances that were approved by the appointed council to determine if any changes should be considered.
